About Me
Analyst, Writer, Thinker
Exploring the intersection of markets, data,
tech
and clean energy
I'm Vasudev Mohan Singh. I work at the intersection of energy markets and software - not writing the code, but deciding what gets built, how it should work, and what good looks like. The domain knowledge comes from my experience so far within US wholesale markets. The rest comes from being the kind of person who can't leave a problem half-solved.
The Merit Order exists because most of my best work never went anywhere. Analysis done, insight reached, model built - then filed away because it didn't fit the immediate ask or wasn't needed that week. That stopped sitting right with me. Every effort deserves its due. So I built this website myself, wrote the articles, designed the logo, and published it - not because anyone asked for it, but because the work was worth doing and I wanted it to exist in the world.
Outside the markets I read widely, play chess, and follow basketball and counter-strike more seriously than is probably reasonable. I think carefully about design in everything I make - this site included. I'm an analyst by training, a writer by choice, and a thinker by disposition. The work here reflects all three, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Get in Touch
One thing I've learned in my journey so far - the best insights often come from unexpected conversations. Whether you want to geek out about energy markets, debate basketball statistics, discuss chess strategies, share book recommendations, or just have an interesting conversation, I'm always up for connecting with new people.
