I'm Vasudev, an energy analyst based in Pune, India.
My work sits at the intersection of battery storage and US wholesale energy markets — mainly ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, and MISO. I spend most of my time thinking about how batteries make money: dispatch optimization, revenue stacks, market design, and how all of it is shifting as storage capacity scales up.
I started The Merit Order because writing helps me think more clearly. The posts here are how I process what I'm seeing in the markets — sometimes data-heavy, sometimes just an observation that felt worth putting into words.
